Masons have faith in God but Masonry is not a religion. Masonry is one of the few platforms where men of all monotheistic faiths – Christians (including Catholics), Jews, and Muslims -can come together because it is open to all men who believe in a Supreme Being
Any man who has belief in a Great Architect and a hope of immortality may see in it the assurance that death is but a pause, not an end; a gateway, not a wall.
Freemasonry is not a charity but as in any fraternal setting, the need of a Brother or his dependents, will receive the sympathy and support of his Brethren, not always or necessarily, financial.
We show tolerance and respect for the opinions of others and are kind to and understanding of fellow human beings.
We practice charity, not only for members and their families, but also for the community at large.
As Freemasons progress through the Craft, they discover different aspects of themselves and developing leadership and a range of skills that even they might not have known they possessed. Freemasonry offers its members leadership opportunities at the lodge, District, and Grand Lodge level. By developing leadership techniques that fit their personality, Masons unlock the door to their full potential.
By attending Masonic Lodge meetings and learning from your fellow Masons, you’ll strengthen the bonds of fellowship as you join together with like-minded men who share ideals of both a moral and metaphysical nature. You’ll enjoy the friendship of other Masons in the community, and you’ll be welcomed as a “brother” by Masons everywhere in the world.
Freemasonry is described as “a beautiful system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.”
Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
Masonry, also referred to as Freemasonry, is often described as a philosophy of life and a system of morality supporting brotherly love and a belief in God and eternal life; as well as teaching certain fundamental truths, the practice of basic virtues, and lifelong learning through active inquiry and investigation.
Freemasonry is a fraternity including men of every race, nationality and religion. Wishing to do away with all cause for division and strife, it continually seeks the means which to help all human beings to unite and work together for the perfection of Humanity.
Masons come from all walks of life: accountants, teachers, office workers, laborers — you name it.
They represent all creeds, cultures, and religions, all are welcome. In Massachusetts alone, there are more than 225 Lodges with more than 29,000 members. You are bound to develop lasting friendships, meet new business associates, and broaden your circle of friends. No matter where your travels take you, it’s great to know there are brothers you can depend on and trust.
We read in our Great Light, the Bible, that "the days of our years are three score years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride labor and sorrow; for it is soon gone and we fly away."
Cherish that which the Lord hath given.
